Thursday, November 26th, 2009
  1. My clients–who respect me, my time, and my abilities and are all lovely people I enjoy working with
  2. My audience–who seem to like reading what I write, which means a lot to me
  3. Work I enjoy–each time I take on a new type of project or new subject area, I learn and grow
  4. A work life that can’t be beat–working for myself means I have both the best and worst boss ever, but it’s still great
  5. Supportive friends and family–who work around the weirdness that working for oneself occasions from time to time

Summer’s here. Time to watch out for lightning…

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Did you know that this week (June 21-27) is National Lightning Safety week?

When thunder roars, go indoors.

Visit the National Weather Service site and learn all about it.

This is one use for the internet I really appreciate and have fun with–learning about all the obscure or unusual holidays, celebrations, or commemorations.

Happy birthday Abe!

Things I’m thankful for (at home)…

Thursday, November 27th, 2008
  • My home. I have one and the only “problem” with it is too much heat in the wintertime.
  • My family and friends. For all the regular reasons.
  • The manufacturer of my favorite candy, which is made in Britain and not available in the U.S. For letting consumers order directly and for shipping across the pond.

What about your home life are you thankful for?

Happy Columbus Day…

Today is a day to celebrate discoveries and voyages of all kinds.

Because you never really know where they’ll lead.

Happy holidays…

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

This will be my last post until 2008, as I take a break to celebrate Christmas with my family. Unless, that is, I can get the publish ahead function to work on this thing. The last few times I tried, though, no luck.

If you celebrate Christmas, have a wonderful holiday. And cherish the time you get to spend with your loved ones. Family and friends are precious gifts. Even if they drive you crazy!

If you don’t celebrate Christmas, have a great day next Tuesday, too. Enjoy the time away from the hustle and bustle and your daily grind. A little break is always a good thing.

I hope 2007 saw some of your dreams come true. And that 2008 brings you joys and surprises and love.
