On Words and Business

Here’s a brief reminder about the importance of taking vacations. No matter if you run your own business or work for someone else.

On a slightly related note, I was looking for the lyrics to the Go-Go’s song Vacation:”Vacation. All I ever wanted. Vacation. Had to get away.”

Since I recall when the song hit the radio stations and the charts, I was dismayed to find it on Oldie Lyrics.

Now I need a vacation. Oh well, eh!

June is National Candy Month, which I am celebrating whole-heartedly. It got me thinking about writing-related celebratory months, weeks, or days.

We missed:

• National Freelance Writers Week in Feburary
• National Card and Letter Writing Month in April and May  (It is unclear how the Post Office made two months become one. Then again, I was so busy I sort of missed April this year, so maybe I know how they did it.)

To look forward to:

• Be Kind to Editors and Writers Month in September
• National Novel Writing Month in November

I wonder if there are any others I haven’t tracked down…
